About my work
My work revolves around exploring the existential experiences of women, focusing on issues of gender, society, culture, religion, and war. As I engage with these themes, I am particularly drawn to the ways in which patriarchal social, political, and religious structures contribute to gender inequality.
To give voice to these concerns, I have turned to printmaking as my primary medium. Specifically, I have developed a strong affinity for linocut, woodcut, and ink & pen techniques. I approach my creative process with a sense of intuition and spontaneity, allowing the stories of my final images to emerge organically as I work directly on the linoleum and woodblock. I find a sense of personal power in the repetition of traditional printmaking techniques, which offers a counterpoint to our over-digitized world.
In my creative practice, I strive to strike a balance between my day job and my personal work, which serves as a dynamic juxtaposition that invites reflection on my own existence in the corporate world and as an artist. Through this ongoing juxtaposition, I am able to more fully embrace the complexities of my own existence, and to create work that is both deeply personal and universally relevant.
My work is more than just a source of joy for me - it is a powerful tool for creating dialogue and sparking meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most to me. Through my work, I hope to continue creating dialogue and sparking inspiration in the world around me.
